At ProTax Recon, our mission is to empower new and pending property owners with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about their tax obligations and exemptions, ensuring their long-term financial success.
A Women-Owned Business
In 2023, two sisters with a passion for real estate and a combined experience of 50 years in the industry came together to solve a common problem. As a seasoned title escrow officer and a past vice president of a former REIT and partner of a custom home building business, we saw firsthand the critical need and oversight when it comes to tax reconciliation and monitoring.
We discovered that many property owners are unaware that property taxes are prorated at closing and can be reconciled when tax bills become available. This often results in missed opportunities to save money.
That’s why we created ProTax Recon—to help you calculate and collect the reconciliation, and monitor your property tax account with the appraisal district to ensure it’s updated accurately.
At ProTax Recon, we work tirelessly to make sure you never miss out on an opportunity to save money on your property taxes and avoid defaulting on your tax bill.
Meet the Team
Amy Heritage
Amy Heritage has worked nearly 25 years in the real estate industry primarily on the commercial side. Her span of experience along side her co-founder/partner allowed them to discover an untapped market/service and ProTax Recon was formed.
Amy most recently served as Regional Vice President at PS Business Parks – formerly a $7.6 billion publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) which owned and managed nearly 30 million square feet. She joined the Texas team in 2003 as a Leasing Director responsible for the leasing of just under one million square foot portfolio. During her tenure, she held various roles that involved overseeing the leasing and management of the company’s Texas portfolio along with an active role in acquisitions and dispositions. Over her nearly 20 years with the company, she always kept a high attention to detail and delivered exceptional customer service.
Amy began her career in real estate when she went to work for a regional firm – Yancey-Hausman & Associates. She negotiated lease deals with both local and regional retail tenants for shopping centers in and around the Austin area.
She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and resides with her husband and son in Austin, Texas. In her free time, you can find her spending time hard at work on interior design projects, watching college football or cheering on her son at his sporting events.
Jennifer McCormick
Jennifer began her career as a legal assistant with a law firm in Dallas. She was introduced to title-related matters while employed with the law firm and recruited by a fee attorney to assist with high-profile, complex commercial transactions.
After five years working with the fee attorney, she joined a title company as lead closer. She was instrumental in building the commercial division, exceeding the goals of the company, and becoming a renowned closer. She has successfully closed a wide range of multi-state/multi-site commercial and residential transactions.
Jennifer currently manages a direct branch office with Capital Title serving as SVP/Commercial Escrow Officer with over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. She prides herself with top-notch service committed to treating each transaction with professionalism, integrity, and an attention to detail.
She has been awarded with multiple achievement awards; most notable as MVP and top producer. Jennifer is a member of TLTA and serves on an advisory board. She received an AAS degree from Blinn College. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling.
